Personality and Preference Decision
Introduction/Purpose: You are being asked to participate in a research study that investigates how people form preferences. The purpose of this research study is to help us learn more about the psychological processes that occur when people form preferences among different options. There will be approximately 500 people in this study.
Procedures: Your participation in this study will last between 10 and 15 minutes and will involve filling out measures online. As a participant in this study, you will be asked to complete questionnaires about your personality and make decisions about your preferences among different options (Chinese dim sum dishes). At any time in the study, you may decide to withdraw from the study. If you withdraw no more information will be collected from you. You may withdraw by exiting the survey window on your web browser.
Risks: Your participation does not involve any risks other than what you would encounter in daily life. You may skip any questions you like or withdraw from the study at any time.
Benefits: There may be no direct benefit to you by your participation in this research study. However, you may enjoy answering questions about your personality and your opinions. Your participation in this study may also aid in our understanding of important psychological processes.
Confidentiality: Your responses are completely anonymous and your personal identity will not recorded in any way.
Financial information: Your participation in this study will involve no cost to you. You will not be paid for your participation. Participation in this study is on a voluntary basis.
Subjects’ Rights: Your participation in this study is voluntary and you are free to withdraw at any time. You are free to choose not to answer particular questions if you do not want to.
